Happy May Day!

Happy May Day from Vision Specialists of Council Bluffs!

May is Healthy Vision Month, and our staff wants to remind you to schedule your annual eye examination.

Millions of people in the U.S. have undetected vision problems and eye diseases. Healthy Vision Month is promoting early detection and treatment, as well as use of proper eye safety practices, in preventing vision loss and blindness.

A comprehensive exam allows our doctors to look for common vision problems and eye diseases, many of which have no early warning signs. Early detection and treatment can help save your sight! Call our office or click the “Appointments” button at the top right of the screen to schedule your appointment.

What are some things you can do to promote eye health?

  • Wear safety glasses or goggles when working outdoors or in hazard environments
  • Protect your eyes from UV light by wearing sunglasses—or ask our opticians about Transitions® brand lenses!
  • Quit smoking and implement an exercise program
  • Eat a healthy, balanced diet

o   Check back to hear from Katie, our office manager and dietician, about essential nutrients your diet should include and what foods to add to your weekly menu!
